  Evaluation and assessment of the students’ performance and progress are conducted at regular intervals. Three to four written exams are held every year to monitor the progress of the students at different stages after completing particular units of the syllabi so that we are able to make them updated and live throughout the academic year.  The schedule of these term exams is published in the academic calendar and hence there would be no sort of frustration in the case of students. More over days before the examinations, the schedule is announced in the classroom and published in the notice board for making the air free from any sort of confusion. The staff council assigns the duty to a faculty member for co-ordinating the examination for a particular term at least ten days before the actual schedule of the exams and all the faculty members are requested to draft the question papers of concerned papers in soft document on the e-mail address of the co-ordinator. We are always alert enough to keep the confidentiality, and hence all the faculty members are strictly requested type the questions themselves and even the office staff are not allowed to read the question papers before the exams. The answer sheets are observed and valued as early as possible and given back to the students to ensure immediate feedback and remedial measures. The marks and grades are published on the notice board after each term exam to create serious approach in students.As attendance is one of the criteria drafted by kannur University for awarding particular percentage of internal marks, the attendance level of students is monitored at regular intervals. The students are informed the importance of attendance in advance and conveyed that there should be zero level tolerance in this regard. Assignments and projects are given to students on the basis of the topics included in the syllabus and contemporary educational issues. The performance of the students-curricular and extracurricular- is observed throughout the year directly as well as indirectly.

 ENTRY LEVEL TEST

An Entry level test is conducted in the very first week just after the commencement of the fresh batch. It is intended for testing the knowledge level of the students when entering the course. KSTC Department of Education prepares a well printed and well designed question paper with a variety of questions from almost every part of the Paper-1 i.e. 'Education in the Emerging Indian Society' which is commonly known as Paper Educational Philosophy. Only objective type questions are included in the question paper. Students are conveyed, in advance, the intention of the test that it is just for checking their knowledge level on the concerned paper and it will not be considered among the criteria for awarding internal marks so that we can ensure accurate information in this regard. A test is conducted at the end of the course b using the same question paper so that to compare the performances in the two tests and to know the degree of improvement in the knowledge level after learning the paper.

It gives you a clear idea about the nature of questions under each section so that you can have a very good strategy for answering different types questions. Such a plan and strategy may help you save time and energy, and you can score the maximum marks for each section, which may provide you mental satisfaction, too.
