KSTC Department of education strictly follows the Kannur University criteria for awarding the internal marks for the theory paper i.e. Paper-1 'Education in the Emerging India' . Hence we conduct three or four term exams at regular intervals the valuation of which is done accurately and impartially. We have prepared our own criteria for awarding the 10 marks allotted for the internal exam results. Those who score a percentage of 60 or more in the internal exams, are awarded 9/10; those who score between 50% and 60%, are awarded 8/10; those who score between 40% and 50%, are awarded 7/10 and those who score below 40% are awarded 6/10. The students who are absent in any of the term exams, are awarded zero mark in that particular exam and it, also, is considered when totaling the marks for finding out the average percentage, for discouraging maladjustment by being absent in a particular exam, if they feel that they are not prepared well. As per the instruction of Kannur University, those who keep more than 90% of attendance, are awarded 4/4, allotted for the attendance; those who keep between 85% and 90% of attendance, are awarded 3/4; those who keep between 80% and 85% of attendance, are awarded 2/4 and those who keep below 80% attendance are not allowed to attend the university exams. Those who score Grade A+ and A, are awarded 4/4, allotted to Assignments/ Projects while those who score Grade B+ and B, are awarded 3/4.
